Simeonie loves to show off his carving skills by having his Dancing bear poised in extreme positions.
This little fellow has his toes facing forward and his upper body and head turned 90 degrees to the left! Astounding.
It is difficult for an Inuit carver to balance a bear on one leg. Often the arms are in a one up, one down posture that helps stabilize the piece.
But having the upper half of the bear facing a completely different direction creates a difficult task for the artist.
Abraham is a genius carver. He seems to like challenging himself which is admirable and inspirational.
This dancing bear is masculine and powerful. I love his individually carved claws on his hands and feet.
This is a wonderful mini bear. You can't have too many small bears in your collection and his price point makes this so easy.
