Masterpiece Carving! Museum quality Sculpture!
This is a historically significant piece.
Nuveeya was a pioneer of the Inuit art community and a highly decorated artist in terms of awards and recognition. His work is displayed in The WAG and the National Art Gallery in Ottawa.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts which celebrates the achievements of Canada's most accomplished cultural producers.
He was a member of an elite group of Inuit carvers which included Axangayuk Shaa, Elijah Michael, and Parr Parr.
Maneater is a magnificent vintage piece whose majesty is evident even on first glance.
I am overwhelmed with the skill of Ipellie's skill and his imagination.
I look at this man's face and see strength but also tenderness. This is perhaps the most exquisite face I have ever seen among Inuit carvings.
This is truly a masterpiece!
