This is another irrepressible dancing bear by Allan Sheutiapik. 

The luxurious dark chocolate stone is the perfect color for this energetic carving.  Delicate strands of gold dart around the bear like lightning rods.

I have come to understand that each dancing bear, regardless of size or posture,  has its own personality.

In thirteen years as a curator of Inuit carvings, I have seen hundreds and hundreds of dancing bears.

I am still enchanted by them, which is a credit to the outstanding Inuit artists who create them. 

Allan is an acomplished Inuit carver.  His dancing bears are adored by those who love bears and small sculptures..

The proportions of this small bear are flawless. And its smooth finish and glossy shine are exemplary.
